Cleaning Do's and Don'ts
Routine Cleaning
Long Term Maintenance
- Don't "wet" a wood floor with water. It will dull the finish and can raise the grain of the wood.
- Use a no abrasive wood floor cleaner, or good old fashioned Vinegar/Water solution in a spray bottle.
- Don't use wax on a urethane finish. Wax causes wood to become slippery and appear dull quickly while building up layers of "gunk". The only remedy for this problem is to sand and refinish the floor.
- Never use vinyl or tile care products on wood, it may leave a film on top of the wood and make it look faded or discolored.
Long Term Maintenance
- Urethane finishes eventually will show wear and tear. When high traffic areas begin to show this, it is time to recoat or restore the finish.
